Faithful Friends

One of the great tributes the Savior can give is to call us “friends.” We know that He loves with a perfect love all of His Heavenly Father’s children. Yet for those who have been faithful in their service with Him, He reserves this special title. You remember the words from the 84th section of the Doctrine and Covenants: “And again I say unto you, my friends, for from henceforth I shall call you friends, it is expedient that I give unto you this commandment, that ye become even as my friends in days when I was with them, traveling to preach the gospel in my power” (D&C 84:77). We become His friends as we serve others for Him. He is the perfect example of the kind of friend we are to become. He wants only what is best for His Heavenly Father’s children. Their happiness is His happiness. He feels their sorrow as His own because He has paid the price of all their sins, taken upon Himself all their infirmities, borne all their troubles, and felt all their longings. His motives are pure. He seeks no recognition for Himself but to give all glory to His Heavenly Father. The perfect friend, Jesus Christ, is completely selfless in offering happiness to others Pres. Church Tomorrow! =)

Brothers & Sisters,

I just got off the phone with President Petersen and GREAT NEWS!!! We will be able to meet in our building this Sunday as an entire ward with a regular 3 hour block schedule. The cultural hall will be available for our use so we can all fit into one sacrament meeting. (I had considered dividing us in half and doing two – glad that option is not necessary!)

We will have to work around not having the two class rooms under repair in the north foyer. (One of the Nursery classes – I can’t remember who is in the other for Sunday school – It is Deacons for the third hour) The back portion of the cultural hall will have equipment and tables stored.

The plan is to turn off the fans at 7 am Sunday morning and after our meetings are concluded they will restart to finish the drying out process to save the floor. (They believe that they will be able to save the floor)I appreciate everyone’s patience as we have worked through and continue to work through this inconvenience.

Thanks for all you do,
Bishop Liddell

Items Needed,

I am looking to borrow a crib or twin bed for when the baby comes or to trade our queen size bed for a smaller one, so that we can fit all our kids in the rooms we have upstairs. If you have either item please contact me at cherisealva5@yahoo.com
Thank you!

Special Christmas Elf

Last Christmas I had a secret Elf that left me food storage and awesome poems for the `12 Days of Christmas’. This year I had one big package for all 12 days with an incredible poem about food storage and me traveling. Anyway, I want to say a humble thanks to whoever has blessed me with these gifts. I literally fell to my knees in prayer and gratitude when I opened the package. I love this church, our ward and this/these individual(s) even though the identity remains a secret!

Thanks,
Jonesy

Huge Thank you & Congrats!

I was sick on Sunday and found out thru the grapevine that major changes happened on Sunday. I personally would like to give a Huge thank you to all the wonderful women that served in Relief Society Pres. & the Young Women's Pres. Your time, service & dedication was noticed & appreciated! We thank you for all of your hard work!

We also look forward to a new chapter in Relief Society & YW's with all new Presidency. We appreciate your willingness to serve in your new callings. Thank you! We love each of you and support you!

Brenda C.

P.s. Side note, kind of funny- Husband (THe one that looks an awful lot like Mike Coon) comes home and tells me all about the changes. When I asked the names of the new people that were called (especially wondering who the new Pres. is) he said, 'Oh I don't know.' Gotta love a man for olny sharing half of the story! I found out who was called by asking my wonderful sis in law Andrea. I'm glad Andrea is always on the ball & remembers EVERYTHING! =)
